On April 24, 2013, four separate recalls were issued affecting over 150,000 vehicles and 4 different automobile companies.
Subaru is recalling approximately 10,137 2014 Foresters due to faulty carpet mats. The backing for the carpeted floor mats was not manufactured to specification. As a result, the floor mats may curl when exposed to heat. This curling could result in the mat interfering with the brake and accelerator pedals.
These models were manufactured in January 2013 through March 2013. Subaru will notify and will issue an interim notification by the end of April 2013. Owners may contact Subaru at 1-800-782-2783. Subaru’s recall campaign number is WQH-44.

Nissan is recalling over 120,000 Altimas, because of the spare tires produced. These tires may have been greatly over or under inflated. These vehicles were manufactured between March 21, 2012 and March 26, 2013. Tires that are significantly over or under inflated when used may fail while driving.
This recall is expected to start on May 3, 2013. Owners may contact Nissan at 1-800-647-7261.

Due to electronic stability control system problem, Honda is recalling 43,782 Honda Fit sport vehicles that were manufactured between May 23, 2011 and March 22, 2013. These vehicles do not conform with the requirements of Federal Vehicle Motor Safety Standard No. 126 regarding the yaw rates at high steering angles with certain tires.
The safety recall will begin May 17, 2013. Owners may contact Honda automobile customer service at 1-800-999-1009. Honda’s recall campaign number is S99.

Finally, Volvo will be recalling 2011-2013 VHD and VNL vehicles due to concerns that the brake chamber may leak pressure allowing the parking brake to drag. This effect causes overheating of brake components, which may result in a fire.
Volvo will notify owners beginning June 17, 2013. Owners may contact Volvo at 1-336-393-2000. Volvo’s campaign recall number is RVXX1302.
